I am fond of it particularly because the frame is wrought iron but the rest is made of high quality wood, none of which you can normally find at big stores such as walmart etc. Its quite strange to have metal patio furniture mixed with traditional wood, but I find it gives the elegant, old fashioned look with all the strength of wrought iron. The setup was fairly easy and the instructions were clear. Recently I’ve been having a lot of problems with home and garden items I order which have obscure, confusing or just strange assembly instructions to say the least. I’m glad that this was not the case here. In addition, once assembled, we haven’t had to do any maintenance work since, and we’re from a part of the country which has its fair share of harsh weather. Although I would hope so for a set costing over 2000 dollars, I’m still impressed that the set hasn’t moved at all after a number of very windy nights. A disadvantage when it comes to the rain is that the color of the wood can get ‘washed out’ if you leave it outside, so I would advise either getting some plastic covers or taking the furniture inside or in your garage after use, otherwise your $2000+ dollar set will start to fade. This happens with pretty much every good quality colored wood and another alternative is coating this in water seal to make it impervious to the rain. If you’re not familiar with water seal it only costs around fifteen bucks and is well worth it, especially if it protects a set as expensive as this one.

The patterns in the frame are elegant and intricate, as are those on the cushions, and the side table and coffee table have been used heavily by our guests with great compliments every time we host a party. We have a fire pit which we put at the center with all the chairs around – it really becomes the centerpiece for every gathering we have, which was my initial aim for the set. Just for that alone, to me, it’s well worth the money. Aside from the quality, the practical value is enormous for me and after 6 months of ownership we have already seen a fantastic summer of heavy usage and hope to use it again next summer, though we still aim to use it during cosy winter nights huddled around the fire too.

To sum it all up, if you really are sick and tired of cheap store patio sets, then this is a higher end wrought iron patio furniture set (view on amazon here) that will really impress and provided that you take good care of it, that is, coat it with water seal or oil and cover them when not in use, they will look brilliant and as good as new every time. My only problem now is that my garden is too small to take another set of wrought iron patio furniture, so I have to find some ways to make space before I get anything else.
